At the moment I am grateful to GiveDirectly for enabling me and my family to see the success of the plans we had right from the enrollment. I feel much satisfied with all that I have done after a huge investment in livestock and the construction of a new house. I don't have any new goal at the moment but working hard to see the progress in rearing the dairy cow I have to ensure a plenty production of milk in the future.

The effort made by GiveDirectly to reach out to every household and give equal transfer was an amazing job in my opinion. We were allowed to spend the money on all that we would wish to without any restriction making the transfer unconditional as were told during the enrollment period. This opportunity allowed my family to own a dairy cow and also construct a new house that we are currently living in. I have no complaint at all and like everyone in the village, I am grateful to GiveDirectly and hoping that they will keep doing the same job in other villages that have not received the transfer yet.

I spent the second transfer on completion of the construction that I had initiated with the first transfer. I received the money when I was left with roofing and had to purchase 32 iron sheets at KES 24000 for the completion. I also purchased nails at KES4000 and also paid the labor charges worth KES5000. Initially, we had a small hut that was so small for my family of five and had to construct one that can accommodate all of us and create an extra room that can pride us up in welcoming visitors. I also bought clothing for every member of my family and spent the remaining KES4800 on buying foodstuff that we are still using at the moment.

I was at home busy doing my house chores when I heard my phone ringing, it was around 9 am, when I picked my phone to check, that was when I realized that I had received money from GiveDirectly, I was overwhelmed with joy, I thanked God for the support that I had received, I knew all my plans would be accomplished now that I had the money at hand, I am happy that the organization kept their end of the bargain.

Our village is a semi-arid area, our children lack food varieties to take as a balanced diet, we only depend on milk to supplement for other nutrients, the unfortunate thing is that I did not own a cow due to our financial status hence the cost of milk was very expensive daily, When GiveDirectly promised us of the unconditional transfer I was relieved because finally our dream of owning a dairy cow would be accomplished, secondly I bought building materials with the remaining part of the transfer and I am hopeful that with my second transfer I will be able to build a decent house that would accommodate our visitors, I am happy and grateful that the organization brought joy and happiness in our lives

I buy and sell milk in the Village, I am a mother of three children, My husband is a motorcycle rider offering taxi services, he makes very little from his business hence buying milk daily for our children was costly, We could not afford to buy a cow due to our little income, therefore, we had no choice but to prioritize other basic needs, When the transfer came, this was on top of my list, I used KES 34,000 in buying a dairy cow, we also plan to build a house with our second transfer because the house we are currently living in is small, and our family is growing, therefore we bought building materials worth KES15,000, we then used the remaining part of the transfer in buying foodstuff. I am happy for the support that lifted my life greatly.
