How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is much different in that I have acquired a plot of land and hired a fertile piece of land for agriculture. At an early time before the cash transfers, I had to beg my relatives for agricultural land and food. Life was so difficult in that I could hardly feed my four children. However, I am grsteful that the cash transfers brought a life changing impact in my household.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion,GiveDirectly does well to send cash transfers to everyone in the community without segregating. Eventhough, some people did not benefit. I believe there is a reason as to why they did not.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer to complete the purchase of a piece of land and I hired a piece of land. I also spent some money on tilling the land.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference n my daily life so far is that my children are at school studying. I am also happy that I secured a cassava garden that will provide continuous food supply for my family. Before I received the cash transfer, we were living from hand to mouth and I had limited food supply.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received a mobile money message at night, but never read it till early in the morning. On checking that mobile money message, I felt so happy because I had never held such an enormous amount of money at once. At that moment I believed that God had sent GiveDirectly to save me from poverty.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to purchase a plot of land for my children worth UGX 1,550,000. Then I spent UGX 20,000 to enroll my two children at a public school. I also bought a cassava plantation worth UGX 100,000. The rest of the cash transfer I am planning to spend it on purchasing grass for thatching my incomplete hut.
