What does receiving this money mean to you?
The house iam living in presently is a thatch roof house. Whenever it rains, my family and i finds it difficult to sleep because of the leakage. When i receive this transfer, i will build a new house with zinc roof. I have been burning coal to enable me build a house but the proceed from the coal is not enough to even buy zinc. I am really happy for the help that Give Directly is giving me. I will use my first transfer to buy zinc and the other transfers will be use to buy other building materials and pay the builders. I will use the proceeds from my coal to establish a small business. The profits form the business will be use to take care my children's school fees and feed my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months i haven't really been happy. The reason i haven't been happy is that, i have failed my children as a father. I not able to provide for them especially the ones that are far from me. Two of my children are in Maryland and one in Zwedru. Each time they call for school fees, i can't afford to pay. This makes me to feel very sad.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenges i am facing presently is finances. Every time i start a business it will break down because everything we need comes from the business. As a result , when we use the profits, we have to use the principle thereby making it difficult to reinvest. Presently i have to burn coal to provide food for my family. My plan of building a house failed because of lack of money. Now that Give Directly has come to our aid , my dream of building a house and establishing a business will be successful. I must admit i am really happy and grateful for this help.
