What does receiving this money mean to you?
"What I have planned to do with the cash transfer is to build my own house. My spouse and I have been separated for about 5 years now; when we were together, all I ever wanted was my own place but that dream didn't come to reality and we have separated. I have been living in a family house since I became a woman, presently I still live there. I need a place of my own to remove the shame". It is not a good thing to have been married and still live in your family house".
What is the happiest part of your day?
"In the last 6 months, what has brought joy or happiness in my life is, I remembered the first week in June when my sister brought me a beautiful African suit. It was the best and most expensive gift I have ever received. I was so full of joy that I cried knowing that people still care about when I thought I have been forgotten".
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"The current challenge I'm faced with is finance. I need money to feed my family, send my children to school and to take care of other basic needs like shelter, health, and clothing. Because of the limited money I earn from the broom I sell, I am unable to do any of these but feeding the family. My children have not been to school for 4 years now; all they get to do nowadays is farm work. My spouse has left me with the children and I alone is unable to support them due to the lack of money".
