My life has greatly improved since I do not have to depend on my husband too much. The household needs that are very pressing can be addressed using the money I get for the poultry project. My husband is so relied and happy that he has even offered to help me with the cost of feeding the chickens. I also have managed to start a saving habit. I save in a merry go round group and will one day be able to purchase a dairy cow. |thse tow steps in my life have changed it for the better.

The biggest difference in my daily life poultry farming that I started and continue to expand using the transfers I receive form GiveDurectly. It is a very lucrative farming enterprise in our region. Four months ago, I bought 15 chicks that are now just about to start laying eggs. Since then, I have bought an additional 50 that are in various growth stages. The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I have started poultry keeping projects. This project earns me an income to meet all our household needs and even some times help my spouse pay school fees for our children in primary school. Before I could depend on my spouse to provide all the basic needs by himself and this was straining him because he has no good job. Nowadays he is relaxed and he can plan his small income well by paying school fees for the children and even save some amount for other family projects. I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I would have saved enough money from my poultry project to go back to college to do a medical course. I have also wanted to do that course but the main challenge was lack finance but I'm so optimistic that this plan will come to pass. After college I know I will secure a job earn a salary and support my spouse in paying school fees for our children.

I combined my transfers and that of my husband for some months and bought a water tank. We now collect and reserve enough water for domestic use. Before be bought the tank, we used to go fetching water from the river which is quite a distance and it is quite an uphill task to bring enough water for family use. I now spend the time that I initially used to make trips to and from the river to spend on more productive tasks like working on the farm.

Since we have added income I am planning to go back to school. I used to score good grades back then but dropped out of school because my parents could not afford to pay for my college fees. With my husband's support, I will do a marketable course that will guarantee me a good job. This will diversify further our source of income. This will lessen the period of meeting some of our family goals

My expectation in the next few months is that my poultry project would be smoothly running and expect that I will have some good returns from it. This will enable be manage the resources required in the nursing school and that of my school going children. I also expect to have an improved the lifestyle of my family, that I am able to provide adequate and healthy food my children and even extra to save.

My life currently is different since I have been able to buy six chicken which have already increased in number, a sheep and I have been also able to buy a water tank.

The new goals I now have is to go back to college and further my studies and to buy a cow.

The biggest difference in my daily life is happiness since I now days do not lack anything since the chickens I bought are now laying eggs and when I am in short of cash I can easily sell them.

I expect my life to change in that I will have bought a cow, my sheep will have also increased in number and the happiest part is that I will have joined college in order to further my studies.
