How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different because am getting closer to my dream of owning a dairy cow. I have been saving about KES 1000 per month. This will allow me to get contributions from my merry go round group, much enough to buy a dairy cow. I will be able to get milk from dairy farming soon and this gives me a lot of hope for a better life. The income and milk for consumption will improve my life very much,
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I plan to continue saving in a merry go round group towards buying a dairy cow. In addition to this, I want to fence my compound, therefore improve my home. The compound is currently rampaged by livestock and destroy the landscaping which is not desirable. All the flowers and grass wither leaving the place bare but this should change.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the food availability in my household. I buy foodstuffs when I receive the money that has completely cushioned me from the effects of the recent drought that destroyed my food crops. I did not harvest anything from y maize field that has made daily expenditure very high. But with the transfers from GiveDIrectly, we get just enough to sustain us as we change to engaging in better yielding farming activities especially dairy farming.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My life will have gotten better in the next six months because I will have improved my home compound by fencing it nicely. Right now, my compound looks very untidy and porous that animals can just come and mess up with everything in here. I will have done a good fence by the end of the next six months. I will have milk as a source of income and for food from the dairy cow that, I will have purchased too. This source of income is what I happily look forward to having.

Over the last four months, this has not occurred because GD ensures that I get KES 2280 every month that cushions us on the ties when I do not find work for wages.
