How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I plan to pay my children school fees, I plan to improve my house with a new roof, I plan to buy mattress, I plan to pay my hospital bills and I plan to buy food for the house.

Paying my children school fees, improving my house with a new roof, buying mattress for the house and buying food for the house all are good things that give directly did for me.

My name is Massa Nelson, ID-1667727 from Kpah Town, Dowein District Bomi County, Liberia. Since I started receiving cash transfer from Give Directly, I have planned to renovate my house, pay my children school fees.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly style of working is very good and different from other NGO. They want individual family to be empowered and they are very very transparent in their work.

With my second cash transfer, I paid my children school fees, bought 2 bundles of Zinc sheet and little on food for my home.

Paying my children school fees was a serious challenge for my husband and I but thank God for Give Directly, we paid our children school fees in full installment.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My parents did not send me to school when I was a child. This has made me to live my life in hardship. I do not want my children to experience the same hard time I went through. If I receive this cash transfer, I will send my children to school to acquire the best education that will prepare them for the future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Coming home from the farm to provide food for my children gives me the strength to work more. This has been the only thing that has brought me Joy and happiness.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Waking up every day with out food for my children has made live difficult for me. I sometimes make decisions that put my family at risk. My children and I travel in the forest to cut down trees to produce char coal to sell in the market.
