How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has improved because I own live stock which I did not have and I am proud, the ox is doing good work in facilitating ploughing. Previously, I could struggle to hire oxen and those who owned prioritised their work before hiring out to others.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to give unconditional cash and to follow me up after receiving the transfer just to ensure that I received it. There nothing they have done bad.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used my second transfer for buying live stock at UGX 1,400,000, paid for labour to do harvest at UGX 70,000 and spent the balance on purchase of food .

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the happiness I feel. This is because this money has helped to me reduce my work as I am able to employ others to help me out in my farm. Before getting this money, I personally had to work in my farm in this old age of mine. It made me to really feel tired that my health was deteriorating. On the other hand, my life has changed in that recieving this money has lessened poverty because I have money at hand that I spend as I wish. For example, I am able to feed well, take my children to school and pay laborers in my farm.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I recieved my money, I really felt happy that I thanked God for his grace for enabling us to get such opportunity. This money is a big dream come true!
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to buy a cow at Ugx 600000, bedsheets at Ugx 40000, scholarstic materials for my school going grand children at Ugx 20000 and I bought food that I use to feed my family. I paid labor that helped me in weeding g.nuts and maize at Ugx 100000. I am saving up the balance of my money to cater for some arising issues.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be in position to a buy a cow and some household items like plates, cups. Iam a widow who is complete very vulnerable with no money and yet I have been longing to own a cow. This cow will produce and multiple , then I can be selling some of them to raise money for providing basic needs like treatment and food.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My moments of joy are in the afternoon as Iam chating with neighbours. I share words of wisdom with them, this gives me hope of life.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Poverty is the biggest hardship I face. Iam an old poor sickly widow , so this does not allow me to engage in to hard Labour like Agricuture where I could do some crop planting. It therefore means I survive from hand outs given by neighbours hence feeding is a night mare in my home.
