Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very happy when I received a message about my transfer. I never thought that I will receive such amount of money. Even my kids rejoiced when they heard the news.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
GD has changed my circumstances. My life has changed for the better. I have managed to buy some bags of maize which will carry me to the next transfer. I have also found an opportunity to improve my house. I am so grateful for the transfer. I now live a happy life. No worries at all.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I planned to use my first transfer on house improvement. I bought 10 bags of cement. My plan is to plaster my house and I will start tomorrow. I also hired some people who are moulding bricks. I want to build a fence at the back of my house. I also bought 2 bags of maize for food processing. I am planning to buy more food when I receive my second transfer. I have also saved part of the money which I will use to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and seeds.
