Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was sweeping my yard when my message came on my phone. I paused the sweeping and picked the phone to see the message and I found out that Give directly sent the money they promised us. I was so excited, my wife wasn't home that day so I ran on the farm to share the good news with her. My wife's happiness was more than mine and that alone made me so fulfilled. I love GiveDirectly so much. They blessed me and brought peace to my home.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I am a carpenter and farmer; but all the work I have been doing couldn't make me raise money to renovate my existing house neither to build a new house. Since Givedirectly blessed me with this money, I can now renovate my house and build new one. I no longer have leaking roof over my head. This alone puts smile on my face everyday. My live has changed through the help of Givedirectly and I am grateful.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought two bundles of zinc to renovate my existing house. I also bought good sum of dirt bricks for the new house I intent to build along with one bundle of zinc and few pieces of planks.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
As a subsistence farmer for many years without any better changes in life ,I have planned to invest in cash crop plantation . Coacoa farming is now known in our environment to be the most successful kind of farming with a multiple good impact on many families who invested in some years ago as compared to we who have focused rice farming. With the availability of land for my family and I , I will invest in several headtares with coacoa farming if I received the unconditional cash transfer from GiveDirectly.
What is the happiest part of your day?
When my trap catch animals, I am a happy man for the week . It because that is is one one of accumulating finance for my family from the sale of the animals being caught by my traps .
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am an unemployed father who shares a three bedrooms house with my bigger son and his wife . The maintenance of my house that was built several years ago has been my challenge among other challenges. It is not an easy thing to depend on farming as a source of accumulating finance. As a result of my being unemployed coupled with the limited resources from my subsistence farming, I have been living in this delapetated structure with my family; a situation that diminishes my personality as a man because we only make farms to eat and such products can not even serve us for up to half a year .
