How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
A lot has happened ever since I started receiving the transfers from GiveDirectly but the fact that I now have my cows has made me proud. I will now be leaning on just in case of any financial breakthrough. Also, I managed to construct a decent house for my children since they have been seeking shelter for all that long. I will forever be grateful for this organization becasue I would not have achieved all these if it were not for the financial support.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirctly does well by sending us the cash transfers directly into our mobile phone. This was a nice initiative since there were no cases of corruption and bribery. Therefore, on my end, I do not see any sector that GiveDirectly failed us.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of buying some building materials such as iron sheets, nails, timber, and building poles. This was for the construction of a new house for my children. Previously they used to shelter at their grandmother's house since mine was not spacious. I also bought some beddings which include a new wooden bed, mattress, and bedsheets. Previously we have been using the old traditional bed. Later on, I bought some goats as my living assets. With the remaining amount of money, I bought enough foodstuffs for my family.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I rember very well at 7AM when I was
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Having the dairy cow and is the most valuable asset I can proudly mention. I will achieve most of my goals from the sale of milk to the local markets and the remaining few liters for my children. Initially, it was hard for me to take milk since it was costly and very rare to get them since there were few people owning to dairy cows in my village because of poverty. To add to that, the money that I will be getting from the sale of milk will boost my standards of living. Hence meeting my family's needs with ease.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent part of my first first transfcer on buying some building materils such as iron sheets, bulding materials, nails and timber. This was purposely for the construction of a new house for my children. I then clered schholl chool fees fr my children becasue they have staying he for like two weeks now. I am so glad because the money came in good time since imanaged to send my chilsren to school. I then bought a dairy cow as my potential asset that i can depend on. The remaining amount of money, I am using it buyoing some some enough foodstuffs for my family amd some other househild items that i was lacking.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
A separate house for my children, a crossbreed dairy cow and renovating my house is generally what receiving this money means to me. Currently, I sleep in the same house with my four children while the other six children are seeking refuge from my uncle's house. This has never given me peace of mind and I have always wished to construct them a separate structure but due to financial challenges, this has remained unfulfilled. With the arrival of GiveDirectly, I am confident that, soon I will be able to achieve my goals. My plan is to spend 300 dollars to build the house and 250 dollars to cater for the renovation of my current house. On the other hand, I intend to spend 200 dollars on buying the dairy cow which will be my long term investment project. This will ensure better living standards of my family, a transformation that I always wish.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I usually spend the better of my day in the bush burning the charcoal and this work is very labor-intensive. It is only in the evening when I find myself relaxed. Therefore, the evening is the happiest part of my day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
With my family of 12 members yet we depend on subsistence farming which is not reliable in our area because of the unpredictable weather conditions, it has been a big challenge to meet our basic needs. This has forced me to engage in labor-intensive activities like burning charcoal in order to supplement the little income from my husband's casual jobs. With our combined income, we still can not fully sustain the needs of our family and therefore, lack of a reliable source of income is the biggest hardship that I have ever faced.
