What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am a farmer who plants rice and cassava every years for survival . I also make backyard garden because I dislike purchasing these common things . I have planned with my spouse to establish a very large cocoa farm which the needed resources to undertake such project has not been accumulated , even though we are working toward our plan so seriously. Having been opportune to receive the unconditional cash transfer from GiveDirectly I will use 80% of the cash on cultivation of cocoa farm since we have available the farm land .
What is the happiest part of your day?
My hard work can pave sometimes especially when I have a good yield from garden and farm which produces can be sold by myself. With opportunity to sold all of my farm products on a weekly basis, it always brought joy and happiness to me.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Being a farmer and a gardener over these years who spouse has no definite job ,but a subsistence farming is of no joke . I have been a farmer for so long and the frightful farming materials aren't available due to limited resources to gather these materials. The lack of resources to finance our farming and other projects have been a serious imparliment for our progress . Our children aren't attending the favorite schools my spouse and I need them to attend the fact we have no means so do so and these are some of our challenges among many .
