How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
So much has changed. Now I have a nice sleeping place. I managed to buy enough food for the rest of the year. I am also planning to extend my house. I really appreciate because I could not have managed to do all these things on my own.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I feel like GD is doing well by providing unconditional cash transfers. Some people do provide cash transfers with strings attached. I also had a chance to get a phone which is very good.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought 3 bags of fertilizer and some other farm inputs. I also bought iron sheets such that I will be able to replace my grass thatched roof with iron sheets. I also also planning to extend my house. I have also saved part of the money to pay the one who will build my house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
This money will assist me in a lot of ways. During harvesting season,I struggle with storage space as the house is very small. Hence, I plan to add extra rooms for storage as well as do some finishings such as plaster, cementing the floor and if possible, paint it too. My other plan is to have some livestock especially goats which can be a better investment as they are easy to rear in the village. The rest of the money will go towards daily basic needs which are not easy to come by. I am very happy to get enrolled into the program as my life will improve as some things which we were limited to do due to lack of money are now possible.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Happiest part of my day is the time I get to chat with my fellow women especially in the afternoon. This gives me chance to hear what is going on in the village. We also get to discuss our aspirations as women and am sure there will be interesting stories from fellow women once we start receiving the money in this project.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am in a polygamous marriage and the challenge is that there is less money available for me since I live alone. I have always had the desire to have a comfortable home to my liking but money was not allowing. Hence, my main problem is the need to have a better house than the one I have for storing my produce after harvesting.
