How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal now is to have my new house built. I have lived in this house for about a decade now. As seeing the roof no longer holds the rain waters especially during the rainy seasons. We are sometimes force to change the position of our beds and other important things when it is raining. I am so happy for the first time I am going own a zinc house and I will no longer travel that far distance to cut thatch to repair my roof.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does well by visiting every house in the town to determine eligible households. In this way no deserving household is left out except the household refuses to be enrolled into the program. Additionally the process in which the cash is being transferred to recipients is the most transparent I have ever seen. As for what GiveDirectly is not doing well, nothing absolutely have I seen that the organization is doing wrong.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Through the transfer I was able to buy additional one bundles of zinc. I was also able to buy planks and nails for the roofing and furniture works on the house. Lastly I was able to buy a mattress for the children's room. I am grateful to GiveDirectly for this live changing opportunity given me and my family. I am going to make a maximum use of it to better living condition of my household.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the first transfer I was so excited. because this transfer has been my major concern. Before receiving this transfer I was on my way to the farm to do some farming activities. I soon as I get on the road I received a message from give directly. my children have been out of school, because of the low income I'm getting from the farming. with this transfer, I'm now able to send my children to school. I will also build a house for my children and my wife.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my life now is that I'm about to have a house. I'm also about to send my children to school.im also about to build my new house.

A huge of my transfer will be used for my building projects. some of my transfers will also be used for my children's tuition. I bought one bundle of zinc few picks of nails. I also bought my wife some provisions and some food for the house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Some years ago we built a shop with the plan of establishing a business that will help reduce the hardship on the family but we have not done that due to financial hardship. When I receive any transfer from Give Directly, we will use some of the transfer to buy goods for our shop and the rest be used to pay our children's school fees. The reason why I want to use Give Directly money to establish business is to sustain the children's education because we have no other means of sustaining them on school. On a daily basis my husband goes into the swamp to mine gold and the minimum money generated is not enough to take care of the needs of the children. At times he comes home without money to feed the children. On occasions we borrow money to buy food for the children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
From last year we have been hearing the news of an NGO giving out money to poor communities within Rivercess Couny with no payment in return and the money can be used at will. This news brought so much excitement and hope to us. It was an exciting news because this is the first of its kind to hear of an organisation giving out money with no condition attached. The news also gave us hope of a better life because we have made a very good plan but no money to execute. At times we become more joyful when you see the impact of Give Directly to some neighbouring communities.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Hardship is the real challenge we are faced with as a family. My three children were thrown out of school because we have not paid their schools since the resumption of school. We have struggled to generate money to send them back to school but to no avail. Because of the difficulties in getting gold, we decided to engage into farming activities but the crops are mostly damaged by pests because we don't have money to buy some pesticides for the plants.
