How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I needed money to complete my house project and also purchase enough food for my home. Due to limited finances, it has been very difficult to achieve both of my objectives. However, everything seems to be working out smoothly with GiveDirectly's financial support. I purchased enough bags of cement to plaster my house. Moreover, my balance transfer will be used to buy enough food stuffs for my home.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I am so please with this awesome project that has transitioned the lives of me and my family. Within the last few months, our lives has improved tremendously. GiveDirectly is indeed a huge blessing to us. We (my family and I )will forever remain grateful.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When I received my transfer from GiveDirectly, I used a very huge portion to purchase 23 bags of cement for $29,325LD. I also used portion of my recent transfer to buy food (25kg bag of rice, vita, oil etc..) for my home. My balance transfer was used on transportation. GiveDirectly has been a blessing to me and my family. We are very much excited to be part of this project.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
" we are getting old now and can't continue doing the type of work we do now in our old age. When we get a transfer from GIVEDIRECTLY we will open a small business to sustain us and use the remaining money to plaster our home with cement".
What is the happiest part of your day?
" I have a big brother who has been of great help to my family, but fell sick few months ago which added our hardship, but he's now fully recovered and we thank God".
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
" Our greatest challenge now is doing hard labor in our old age to survive, because we don't have any other means. Our body hurts and at a certain point in time we will not be able to continue such work, but when we receive a transfer from GIVEDIRECTLY we can open a little business in our house here to sustain us".
