How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I would have not been able to do most of the things I did. As at now, my family lives in a comfortable house and they have enough food to take during meal times which was not the case in the past. Personally I am psychologically stable because most of the monetary issues that were clogging my mind have been solved.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GD brings changes to peoples lives and it empowers people to be independent. It helps in reducing poverty levels in the areas they work in.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to pay school fee for my son who was joining secondary school and also bought school items for my other children in school. This is because I wish to give my children the best education so that they become independent people in future. I invested the remaining part of my transfer into a small scale business which will enable me earn a living from the profits. have always worked as a casual laborer in peoples' farms and having my own business has been one of my biggest dreams.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money makes me so happy. I am going to use it to build a semi permanent house for my family since currently we stay in a rental house and that consumes so much of my income.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when all my family members are in the house and we are busy making stories as laugh.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is lack of a stable job to get a stable income. I am a casual labourer and most of the times the jobs are not guaranteed. When this happens it means that my income is not stable, and as such I cannot provide for my family's needs like food adequately .
