How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I started a small fish business for daily income. I thank God it has peaked regardless of the little income I pumped in it from my monthly transfer. I am able to get the little profit from it that I use to pay school fees for my school-going grandchildren. I no longer borrow money from neighbours, in fact, I am the one being borrowed nowadays, and this makes me happy. Paying fees for my grandchildren has not become any big issue unlike before.
I have less financial stress compared to before when I had not started receiving money from Give Directly.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have beddings but they are too old and some already are worn out, I am planning to buy decent beddings in the next four months.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I spent my transfer to buy cement and sand that I used to plaster my house because the floor was too dusty and could cause frequently cough to my younger children. I also plastered the wall though I am not done with it due to financial constraints
I would say this is the greatest or the biggest difference I have seen out of my monthly transfer from Give Directly.in my daily life in the last four months preceding the last four months.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I am still looking for funds to pump in my business in the next six month to enable me to get a better daily profit. I have confidence that I will get a better profit if I succeed in this.
I will be in a position to have more financial relief compared to how I am now, paying school fees for my grandchildren will be easier.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I managed to start a fruit business a few months ago which has provided me with an extra source of income to take care of my daily needs. Months ago, I had no other source of income other than farming which has not been doing so well lately due to insufficient rains, so I was always looking forward to the end of the month so that I would get GD transfers to take care of my household needs. This is no longer the case as I am now able to buy the requirements through the profits I make out the business that I am currently running.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
For the past few months, I have been plastering my house which was previously made of mud. I have been doing this bit by bit due to lack of sufficient funds to do it at once. I have made great progress so far and my aim is to ensure that I complete the little section that I have not yet managed to Plaster withing the shortest time possible before the project comes to an end.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
With the help of these transfers, I was able to start a small fruit business with the hope of having a stable source of income once the project is over. Even though the business is still fairly new, I have been making quite a decent amount of profits which has supported my daily household needs in a very big way and I no longer have to fully depend on GD transfers for my basic needs like before.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
After I have completed plastering my house which I hope will be done in the next six months, I hope to invest more in the fruits business that I recently started with my previous transfers with the aim of being financially stable after the project is over. This business is my only way out of misery next year so I hope that I will be true to my wishes and invest more in it.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I am happy to say that I am currently living in a better house which I was able to plaster with the help of these transfers. Receiving these transfers gave me the courage to take a loan from our local table-banking group which I knew would be easy to repay. The money helped me to plaster my house which was initially made of mud all at once rather than doing in bits whenever the moeny comes. My house now looks more decent and I no longer have the worry of doing the repairs whenever it rains.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am a peasant farmer, not because of lack of land but because of the lack of resources to farm the entire land. My plan is to make this season a bit different by farming a bigger portion because I now have the money to hire labourers to assist with farm work and to buy quality farm inputs.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I have had it easier tending to my farms this season compared to the previous seasons because I have been able to hire and pay for labour offered to me using these transfers. Previously, It was all on me because I could not afford to raise the money to pay the labourers hence the decision to farm only a small section of my land.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Once the farming season is done, I will shift my attention to clearing the loans that I took to plaster my house. This is because I want to clear the loan as fast as possible so that I can have enough time to save the rest of the transfers before it's over for a chance to start my own business that will sustain me later on.
