How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have livestock (cow and Goats) which makes me very happry as they are investments for my family and my son is now well because I had the money to pay for operation which saved his life.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Sending transfes directly to recipient's phone is a very good idea because they don't miss even a single cent. Give Directly, should visit all the villages for those who havenot been visited feel left out which is not good.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on paying for hospital bill when my son was admitted and operated on. I used a smaller part of it to buy food for the family and I have saved the rest for future use.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is that now I am living in a new house which I had no plans to built it anytime soon.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I got these payment I was so happy as I didn't believe that we shall receive the money as we were promised.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
The money which I received from Give Directly I spent to pay school fees for my child who is in secondary school, I spent some amount to built a house. The other amount I spent to buy a goat and also pay a debt of KES 3000. I am left with KES 10000 to spend on buying a heifer.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am facing in life is lack of reliable source of income to provide for my family. My children walk in rags and sometimes go on empty stomach. This makes me feel unhappy.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when I prepare my children to go to school. Education is the key for better life.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means great liberation from poverty. I would like to clear the fee arrears for my child in secondary school and use the the remaining to build a better house.
