How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different compared to how it was before in that, My in-laws expected that my daughter would drop out of school, being that my husband died. God has intervened through GiveDirectly, and she will complete her study since I have cleared school fees. We could also afford good meals as a family, the thing which could not happened before.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly was a blessings to widows as I am. I was subjected to humiliation when my husband died and people were gossiping on how I could manage to pay fees for my daughter, but I now feel self worth, and happy that my social dignity has been restored.
I could urge the organization to extend it's charity to widows.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the second transfer on school fees, Music system, clothing and food. My husband passed on when my daughter was a first year student in Secondary school. I had nothing to support her education, but When I received the transfer, my priority number one was to give my daughter quality education. This will enable her to compete with others in the job market, and make her empowered. I bank my hope on her and through giving her education, I would restore the chance I missed in my education.
