How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have started my house project that needed to be completed. Therefore, when I received my recent transfer, I bought two bundles of zinc and 10 bags of cement. The 2 bundles of zinc purchased will be used to complete the roof of my house. Furthermore, with the 10 bags of cement, I will pay contractors to plaster the walls of my new house. Some of the cement will be used to put a concrete floor within my house. GD has become a huge blessing to me and my family. I am grateful for this opportunity.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Everything that GiveDirectly has done thus far has been just. It amazes me to see an Organization like GD that gives away huge amount of money and expects nothing in return. These transferred amounts has affected my life positively. I am grateful to GD for all they do.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
A huge portion of my transfer recently received from GiveDirectly was used to purchase 3 bundles of zinc ($31,500) to roof my house. Moreover, portion of my transfer was used to buy 6 bags of cement ($9,000LD) to plaster the interior and exterior parts of my house. I feel so relieved having benefited from this grant given me by GiveDirectly.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to complete the plastering of my house and the construction of my kitchen. Every morning when I wake up, I noticed that my clothes are always getting dirty from rubbing against the clay wall while in bed during the night. I have lived in this clay house for decades now. Getting the finance to improve my house has been a challenge for me. I thank God that GiveDirectly came my way to help me with this money.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does well by giving me money to improve my living condition. GiveDirectly value highly those on their program. The organization does not select specific group of people to be enrolled in the community. As for what it does not do well, I have not seen one. GiveDirectly is a God sent organization that is loosening people from the grape of poverty. Once again, GiveDirectly thank you.

Through the transfers I can gladly say the plastering of the walls of my house is nearing completion. I used the transfer to buy cement. No more shall my clothes get dirty from rubbing against the wall while sleeping at night. I am so happy and greatful to be one of the recipients of this life changing organization-givedirectly.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was at home when I received my payment. It was like a dream come true to receive such an amount of money. In my hold life of existence, I haven't handled this amount of money.
Happiness was just in me the hold day upon recieving my payment.
My wife and I decided that I should go and cash out the money the next day after I told her that the payment has reached the phone.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started recieving payments from GiveDirectly is that, I am now able to buy building materials to start building my new house. I have been living in this old house since then because of the lack of money; meanwhile, with the money provide me by GiveDirectly, I can see that two to three months from now, I am going to be living in a new house with my family.

My most recent transfer was used to buy zinc, nails, and other building materials to begin the construction of my house. I am thankful that GiveDirectly came to my community to give me this money. I can proudly say that with the money given me, I am going to construct a decent house for my family to live in as of now.

I will use the money to carry my son for treatment; four years ago, my son carried palm oil to LAC for sale and I was called that he is mad. I have spent my last savings but to no avail. I'm looking for money to take him to a place that was shown to me.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I have not been happy for as long as I can remember. Since my son who was my everything went mad, there has been no happiness. Furthermore, my brother died few months ago; so how can one be happy in such situations.
