Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My life has taken a different shape because through this cash transfer, I paid off the debt and repossessed my farm land. In addition, I have added another bull for ploughing my farm. I'm now sure of food security in my home because I already cultivated millet. Before, I could cultivated on a small scale and more so late because I had to first do casual labour in order to been given bulls to plough my farm land.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt great because I got money for clearing the debts and repossessing my farm land which I had used as security for the last 4 years. Thanks to GiveDirectly because I wouldn't have managed on my own to pay off that debt.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I cleared a debt worth UGX 735,000 and repossessed my farm land, purchased a bull worth UGX 650,000, paid school fees for my child who is in boarding school worth UGX 130,000, bought food( cassava flour and beans) worth UGX 50,000 and bought household goods( mattress) worth UGX 110,000.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to complete the construction of my house, retrieve the piece of land that I leased and take care of my children's education needs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when I am listening to radio programs. I am able to update myself.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is limited land for cultivation. I leased a bigger portion of my land so as to raise money that would facilitate my marriage. This left me with almost nothing to cultivate. I have a very small portion which is not enough to sustain me. I farm less and harvest less. As I speak now, I have just a meal in a day and yet I really have to work hard.
