How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have always dream of having my own house, and raising my children without the interference of their grandparents. I couldn't carryout those plans that i had because of the financial constraints that am face with. I couldn't even afford good medications for my kids went they are sick! neither we had good meal for a day. Since I received money from Givedirectly, am able to provide provisions and healthy meal for my family daily consumption. I bought some house materials from my first transfers. the second transfers will be used to build my house and pay my children yearly school fees. .
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my own opinion, from the beginning of this program up to present Givedirectly has been transparent in their selection.Firstly i was informed about their ground rules and regulations which i see as a good standard for transparent distribution of cash.Givedirectly did good by giving me money, phone, along with a sim card. Givedirectly staff talk to me nicely. They ecourage me to do good things with the money they give me that'll improve my children future. Those things that Givedirectly did that i felt was never good at all,Givedirectly don't even drink water from us neither accept our offers which brings saddness to me. at least good should pay for good.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
"I used my recent transfer to paid my children school fees. The sum of $15000 was used to pay people to cut stakes and digg sand for my house project. Since i started receiving money from Givedirectly, am able to feed my family three times daily. My children in Monrovia are attending a vey good school. My wife will soon start going for goods in Monrovia to start a very good business. I bought some good equipment for my farming. I just changed the tech from over my house and replaced it with a brand new zinc.
