How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed in that, I have gained self esteem because I own a permanent house now. Before, I used to share with my mother one roof which was very inconviniencing.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well through good ethical conduct towards the beneficiaries. I do not find gaps in their operations.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent UGX 1332000 for buying building materials like sand, bricks,cement, timber, iron sheets, doors, Windows and nails. I then paid labour worth UGX 300000. I do not remember exactly how much each item costed.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I am stress free compared to life before.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my first transfer, I felt happy.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
When I received my first transfer worth 1,700,000ugx, I bought 4,5000 bricks, one trip of murrum, one trip of sand, all adding to 1,020,000ugx for building my permanent house. I bought a bicycle worth 280,000ugx to help in transport, I gave my sister 100,000ugx as a gift, I used 300,000ugx for feeding and buying clothes.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to build a residential house (iron roof) for myself.This is because I inherited the current one I am using from my father.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when I listen to radio programmes while having lunch

The biggest hardship is lack of daily income to meet basic needs.This is because I am always sickly and unto wotk able
