How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed because I'm have built for my children a two roomed permanent house. My children have not yet shifted because I have not yet fixed shatters but by next week they will be occupying it. Currently, we are still occupying a small house which can barely accomodate all us. In addition, I have repossessed my farm land as opposed to when I hired.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by helping me build a permanent house and repossess my farm. GiveDirectly has not done anything wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I bought building materials( timber, 2 trips of bricks and nails), paid labour, bought food, treatment, bought clothing and rented farm land.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Given the fact that I have always been sharing a house with my co wife, the biggest difference in my daily life is that I feel so happy that I was able to build my own house and I will be relieved from the insults that I have always felt due to sharing a house with her. I can personally now make independent decisions and not feel any guilt about it.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt so happy that I had to kneel down thanked God and blessed the whole staff of GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer Ugx 1600000 to buy iron sheets, nails, bricks, metal, ventilators and paying labor that helped me to build and complete it. I then used the balance of my transfer to buy food for my family and laborers.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this money, I will pay off an outstanding loan that saw our land being taken as collateral. When the loan is fully paid back, we shall recover that piece of land and we continue practicing agriculture on it so that we widen our outputs. With the balance from that money, me and my husband have also planned to buy more land for agriculture because its our main source of income.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon because its the time most family members are free and we usually sit together and share meals.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is lack of money. It is the same reason I staked my piece of land so that I get some money to pay the children's school dues.
