How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed ever since I got this aid. I'm now stress free because I have managed to build a three roomed house up to roofing level. GiveDirectly program found when I had already started to build it but I stopped at window level because I never had no finances to continue. Thanks to GiveDirectly, soon I will shift from a leaking thatched house to a permanent house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well by supporting me to build a three roomed permanent house upto roofing level. GiveDirectly has not done anything wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
Paid labour, bought building materials ( nails, 5 bags of cement, timber, 1 trip of bricks, 1 trip of sand) bought food, household goods (mattress ) and a drum.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
This money has enabled me buy construction materials which I intend to use for completing my house that has taken 10 years without completion. Purchasing these building materials has made me very happy. Prior to receiving this transfer, I didn't have enough money to buy building materials.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I was overwhelmed by joy because I knew that would achieve the plan of completing my house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have a house I had begun building but stopped half way because of finances. So the first thing I will do is to see that I complete the construction of that house so that me and my family get better accommodation. The price of thatching grass is high because its scarce so the ironsheets house will save us money we spend on grass. I will also pay back a loan I borrowed from someone so that I regain my piece of land I had staked as collateral.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening because its the time I am resting after doing the day's work.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is lack odf proper accommodation for the whole family. Currently we are sleeping in a small house because there is no money to build a bigger house.
