How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have been desirous of building my own house but never had any financial assistance to execute my project. Nonetheless, I immediately started my building project right after I received my first transfer from GiveDirectly. Meanwhile, with my next transfer just received, I'll expand my house by creating an extra room for visitors. I am so proud of my recent accomplishments and I'll forever remain grateful to GiveDirectly for this golden opportunity that has transformed my life for good.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly, from my own point of view has been very transparent in executing this project that has helped changed the life of thousands of poor families around the world including me. Everything that GD has done thus far has been upright and this is so laudable. At this point, I see nothing that GiveDirectly isn't doing well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I needed money to complete my building project. I also decided to expand my new house by creating additional room to accommodate visitors. Therefore, when I received my transfer, I bought 3 bundles of zinc at $10,000LD each ($10,000 × 3 = $30,000LD) to roof my house. Furthermore, I am anticipating on purchasing few bags of cement to plaster my house floor and get rid of too dust within the house. At the moment, I feel much more relieved and privileged to have from GiveDirectly's unique project.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I had gone to the Baptist Mission School campus to make a call when I received an alert from GiveDirectly that I have received forty thousand three hundred seventy five dollars. I did not even attempt making a call again after recieving the alert because I was overly happy to have received that amount of money. Truthfully speaking in my life this is the first time ever I have seen and hold this amount of money. I am grateful to the GiveDirectly family for this life changing opportunity.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Since I got to know that I am a grown up person, I have been living in my bigger brother's house in one room. I can therefore safely say that, the biggest difference in my daily life since I started recieving payments from GiveDirectly is that, I am now going to have my own roof over my head and I no longer sleep on bamboo bed that is cover with rice straws instead, I now sleep on mattress.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I did spend my most recent transfer on zinc and mattress. I am staying in one of my brother's rooms for now with my wife and child. I therefore bought zinc to build my own house for my family and I to move in. My wife delivered just a month ago so, I bought the mattress for she and the young baby to have comfortable bed to sleep on while building our own house. I been sleeping on bamboo bed covered with rice straws even before I came across my wife. Thank God that my household was qualified for this cash transfer program. I will make a good use of this God sent opportunity to better my family life.
