What does receiving this money mean to you?
As you can see, my house does not have zinc on the roof except the palm fronds. As a result, my house leaks each time the rain falls and it wets things in my room. When I am not around and rain starts to fall, it makes me to worry every time. So when I receive this money, I plan to build a more decent place that will make me not to worry each day when there is a heavy downpour of rain.
The next thing I will want to do with the money when I receive it is, to pay my children's school fees. Since schools have started registration for the new academic year, I have not been able to raise money to pay my children's school fees. It has actually been worrying me too. So when I get this money, I will use some of the money to send them to school so that they can get better education and become good people in the future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, I can't really point to anything that has made me very happy except for the gift of life. When I have the strength to get up every morning and find food for my family, I feel happy that I can provide for my family once again.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
One of my challenges is to find food to feed my family. This year, we never make our farm because my spouse was not here. He was seriously ill and taken to the sick bush for treatment. Because of the length of time he spent there, the time for planting passed and I couldn't make a farm on my own. Now that we are almost at the end of the year, things have become very tough for me and my family especially when it comes to getting food to feed the family. Because of this reason, my spouse lay baskets in the St. Paul River to make a catch and sell just for us to have something to eat.
