How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The cash transfers transformed my life. I was living in thatched house which was in a very poor condition. These cash transfers empowered me to construct a permanent iron roofed house. I am so delighted that GiveDirectly chose to send me these cash transfers.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well to support the poor through sending them cash transfers. On the otherhand, I do not see anything wrong that GiveDirectly has not done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent all the second cash transfer to purchase iron sheets and part of it was given to my inlaws as a a traditional marriage fine.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is happiness because the grass thatched house was giving me stress by linking and termites were damaging it. GiveDirectly has given me an opportunity to build a better house which would have been difficult without the transfers.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt so happy because this money would help me construct another house sinse the old one had become hazardous.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
My first transfer was spent to buy building materials such as bricks, iron sheets and to pay construction labour. I also spent some to weed my rice field and bought tomatoe and red pepper seeds.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to build permanent iron-roofed house. I have been sleeping in a leaking grass thatched house for very long period of time. There is too much coldness whenever it rains and I have always ended up getting fever. This is to costly to treat.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My favourite part of the day is afternoon hours. The whole day Iam engaged in casual labouring and some times garden work. The only relaxing time is after eating lunch while chatting with my siblings. It enables me plan on how to spend the little money I realised that day for sustaining my family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face is poverty. Iam such a very poor person since I mainly depend on casual labour. This is never paying well, because the little money I get is all spent on feeding leaving out other basic needs.
