How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I am more healthy because these transfers have really been helpful when it comes to paying my medical expenses.

My biggest goal now is to be able to save enough money to purchase the required materials so that I can construct a new house.

I have been able to use the money to purchase a few very important items such as maize for family consumption and blankets.

I hope that by then, I would have built the new house and I will be living in a better environment without any fear of my house collapsing on me.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that we can comfortably afford food and other personal items like blankets without having to do excess hard labor jobs which is great considering our old ages.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months,I expect to have bought enough building materials so that I can build a new house because my current one is leaking and is on the verge of collapsing.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
If I had never received the transfers, I would have to depend on people to get food or work hard on the farm to get cassava for sale in order to get money for our daily upkeep.
Do you have any new goals that you didn't have before receiving the transfer?
I am planning to save enough of these transfers to buy building materials and build a new house. I am currently living in an old grass-thatched house which leaks and is usually very cold.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I face in my life is lack of beddings (such as mattress and blankets) as I sleep in the cold during chilly nights.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when my family and l wake up in good health and we are able to carry out farming activities (e.g weeding and digging) together with my wife.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on improving the house by replacing thatched roof with iron sheet. I will also use the remaining amount to buy food to feed my family.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am most proud of is acquiring my own piece of land for farming after a long land dispute, from (my land) which I plant maize and beans for family consumption.
