How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed in that, I have a stress free mind because I paid my children's tuition and bought livestock. Before, I used to sell food in order to raise my children's tuition which led to food shortage in the family. In addition, I also didn't have oxen to plough my farm land and therefore was costly for me to cultivate.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
According to me, GiveDirectly has done well to give out unconditional cash transfers that have bought for me livestock and paid my children's fees. However, this organisation has done everything well without fault.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to buy bricks and livestock i.e a cow and a bull.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The way I see my life nowadays, I have a peace of mind because I no long strain myself with thoughts on how to take care of the children and pay school fees since I'm a sickly woman living with HIV/AIDS.
My standards of living have improved in such a way that I can take two meals a day compared to the days before I received this transfer when I use to partake a single meal in a day.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so happy that time because I used to over think how my children will go back to school since I did not have enough money to cater for their tuition. When I was diagnosed with illness, I sold almost everything in the household to seek medical attention and I did not have anything to sale in order to pay school fees. Immediately I saw a mobile money notification I realized that my children could now go back to school.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
Before I received this transfer, I used to sleep down on a very old mattress and when I got this money I decided to buy a new mattress and a bed for myself and mattresses, nets and clothes for the children.
When I reflected on my utensils, they were not enough for everyone and when I receive visitors I was ashamed because I did not have enough plates to serve them food so I bought more Utensils.
I bought school materials for school going children and paid their fees since they are at the boarding section. I also booked some Iron sheets for building a permanent house when I get my second transfer.
