What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am happy that I have been enrolled in this program by GiveDirectly. I am happy because I have never received any aid or funds from any organization. I will use this money to build a house because that is the one thing I have been lacking. I want to build another house because I want to leave the house that I have to my children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months, I have been happy because I have been able to do business. I have been able to buy food for my family because business has been going well. I am able to buy tea and some food for my family using the money that I make. I am able to make between MK4000 or MK5000 which I am able to use for three days.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenge that I am currently facing is lack of financial support. My husband went to South Africa last September to find greener pastures but he has not yet started sending money. I also lack financial support because I do a small scale business of selling tomatoes. There are times that I do not have enough capital and that means I do not have anything to sell and I cannot have any money to buy food.
