Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
There is a total transformation in my life. I had been desiring to build a house and own a cow. I was able to achieve these at a go using Give Directly funds. So I was catapulted to a level that would have taken years to achieve - it can almost be likened to achieving in an hour what would have taken up to two years and I am happy and grateful for the funds.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so happy when I received the funds. I was at the shopping center so I rushed home to share the good news with my wife and let her know that the transfer was finally here. We then sat down and agreed to spend the funds to build a house and buy a cow.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
Because I needed a cow I decided to spend 25000 KES from Give Directly funds to buy one. I then used the balance to build a house which we are currently doing finishing : I bought iron sheets, nails, wooden frames, doors, windows and paid labor work.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is that of lack of money. There are times when we have had to do without some of the basic neccesities in the household because of lack of money. There are even worse moments when we have had to sleep hungry and this has often made me feel like am not equal to the task of being a responsible head of the household.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening at four o clock. This is the time that I usually reflect on the days activities and take pride in my days accomplishments.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means a lot in my life. Never have I ever seen such an amount of money in my life. My life will change in totality. First, I would buy a dairy cow for my family, secondly I would want to build a better house for my family and start a small business to sustain my family.
