What does receiving this money mean to you?
I got a plot in likoni in 2016. I started putting up a rental house of six rooms which up to now is 80% complete. Therefore, I do plan to use my transfer to complete the remaining part. This will definitely help us as a family since every month we will have an income of 12000KES. With this amount, almost all our family expenses from school fees, food, health care and clothing will be surely catered for.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In April 2021, I had a disagreement with my husband which resulted in us separating for a period of three months. I was praying to God to bring us together because I never wanted my children to be raised without their mother. In July, I received a call from my husband that he has cooled down and realized his mistake. He asked for forgiveness which I was very ready and willing to submit. We moved back together living a very happy life.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Water shortage. In the past, I used to know that in the village basic commodities like water, food etc are readily available and accessible. But currently, am living like those in big towns where almost everything I buy. For a week in my house, I normally use 200litres of water. This translates to 500KES for water only according to the current price. Sometimes this water is not clean hence subjecting us to stomach discomfort.
