How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
First and fore most my life has tremendously improved from the time I received the cash transfers. I look much healthier because I feed well. The family also sleeps in a nice comfortable permanent house. Previously, we were living under thatched houses that were hard to maintain annually. Life is so far very comfortable and peaceful ever since the GiveDirectly launched in our community.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion,GiveDirectly does well to send the cash transfers directly to the recipients without using other third parties. On the other hand, there is no other concern that I have witnessed connected to GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the second cash transfer to purchase windows worth UGX 100000 and cement worth UGX 810000. I spent UGX 300000 to pay the builders. The balance was spent on buying food.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to bring back our piece of land. We rented out one acre of land at a price of 950000ugx in 2017 inorder to help us build this house. If I manage to repay this debt, we will be able to have more land for agriculture and hence food security.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon. This is mostly when I have found food for the family. When my people are happy then I am also happy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am facing is lack of land for agriculture leading to shortage of food. Currently we only have two acres of land that are now over worked and not able to give good yields. It has led to food shortage in our home.
