How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer because from the transfers I built my own home. Initially, I was living in my fathers compound which was small hence I could not rear my cows in it. Secondly, before Givedirectly sent me transfers, I used to do casual labour in peoples farm to feed my family and take care of my sick father. My family can now have all the meals unlike in the past when we used to go to bed hungry.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well in visiting every homestead and every household within the villages it operates. This gives every household an equal opportunity to be enrolled in the program thus there is no bias.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on buying a piece of land and buying building materials which I used to build my own home. Despite being the eldest son, I had been living in a small house at my parents compound which was small. Now that I have my own home I can do my personal development such as rearing my own livestock because this is my permanent place. In addition, my sons will get a space to build their own houses hence they will no longer spending their nights at the neighbours place.
