How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
In the upcoming year I hope that my living conditions will change because I have gotten some money now from GiveDirectly that will help in changing my family and that of my family in the upcoming year.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Helping we the poor people to improve our live through their program with money is something very great and I want for GiveDirectly to continue doing what they started because I did not even have the fitting place to sleep nor good food to eat but through their program I am about to build a zinc house.

RE: Yes i do have some new goals, firstly i want to renovate my house roof. I have always dreamt of having a good and comfortable sleeping place because my house is leaking badly because it's roof with thatch. My greatest desire is to renovate my house roof using zinc. My next plan is to startup my own little business in other to send my grand children school.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
RE: Givedirectly is doing very good for us out here, because without givedirectly i was not ever going to get a decent sleeping place. Am grateful to givedirectly for this cash transfer program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
RE: I spend the most of my recent transfer on purchasing zincs, nails and gas to produce planks for the renovation of our house. Right now the house renovation is our biggest focused because the thatch is really leaking.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
RE: It was during the morning hours when my husband and i came out and sat under our kitchen. While sitting under our kitchen, we heard the phone beep so my husband who have idea on phone took the phone and check the message, that was how we found out that our money was in the phone. My husband and i shouted with laughter out of joy when we saw our money, it was like a dream come through for us.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
RE: The biggest difference in my live at the moment is the happiness i feel knowing that i will soon have a decent sleeping place. And we won't have to stress over getting new thatch every other week for re-roofing
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
RE: I spent the most of my recent transfer on purchasing zinc to renovate our house from thatch to zinc. With the thatch it's really difficult for us because every week we have to change the thatch to new ones, if we doesn't it will begin leaking and we are in the rainy season already.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am successful to receive this cash transfer from GiveDirectly, I will like to do three things. Namely: business investment , sending my kids to school and reconditioning my house . I will open a shop with huge potion of my transfers and pay part payment of my kids school fees with little . I have 6 children and other relatives that I am responsible for. As the business grows, I will use the intrest to pay the school fees and also purchase the other house material that I can't provide locally like wood, zinc and cement. I will do this at the end of every month for 3 quaters. I am an unskilled family man. With this, there is no source of perminent income to substain my family. This is why I decided to consider business as a primary sustainable means.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the month of April 2022, I received a financial assistance in the amont of $ 11,000 LRD from my younger sister that which coverd the payment of my two bigger kids examination fees. This was an intervention that brought extreme joy to my life. As a no income family man, I have 6 children and other relatives I am caring for. It's always a challenging to generate money for school fees and other family up keep. My kids would've been denied of sitting the national exam. Educating my kids and giving them a brighter future are the main reasons for my business establishment plan with my GiveDirectly transfer because, school fees come every year until they can reach their peak.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The lack of a better dwelling place is my current hardship I am going through. I have 6 children and other relatives. I have a very tight mud structure with a tash roof that can't contain us as family . Some part of the structure breaks down during every rainy season. It puts my family in a difficult situation in which some members of my family can be hosted by some of my relatives always. It has been my plan to construct a better dwelling place for which I have started gathering the local materials like dirt bricks and sand but, it has not been easy to generate money for other materials that I can't produce . With the intervention of GiveDirectly transfer, I will be able to purchase the rest of the materials like zinc, wood and cement to begin the project.
