How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My hope for the coming years is to be an effective worker who shall progress well to be financially resilient to the extent I shsll support others around.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Things that are well done at GiveDirectly is the fact they give us money to prosper and the advice they give us on how to well manage the cash given for us to fight against poverty. Is up to us to be royal recipient and use well the cash and overcome poor life condition.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
From the first transfer, we decided to buy a land on $350 because we need where to cultivate beans and patatoes for us to have enough food and bring the rest of harvest to the market and gain money we shall use for other needs. In addition to that, with the second transfer. we are also planning to buy again another land on $360. We do believe that owning a cultivable land will be very important to our family for long term period, Due to the fact we did'nt possess enough food, We used a small part of money to purchase food on $70. Now, we are very stable and financially secured in our home. .

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
As a young couple, we wish to live in a clean place. We hope to renovate our house using $300. We are planning to do farming as usual but with much fertiliser in order to get enough harvest, we will start a small business of farming using $350. We hope to buy a cow and two goats in that amount of money. As a wife in the family, I will start another small business of selling traditional beverages from sorghum and I will start with $60. The remaining amount will be saved to help us in the future .
What is the happiest part of your day?
The main thing which makes us happy as a house hold is when we are healthy and we get the basic needs. In addition to that, my father in law recently gave us a land which was a surprise to us. We were struggling as a young couple fighting for life but then our father helped us which was a big thing to us. We hope to improve our farming.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest challenge is that our house is not clean well due to the poverty. We started living together with my husband in 2020. We are not legally married because we were not stable financially but hopefully in the future, we will make it. So far, we do not have enough land to use in farming and we only have one goat. Getting fertilizer is not easy for us. In summary, we are poor.
