Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have a new goal of paying school fees for my children. I have three children in primary school and one is joining secondary school this month. I would not want to see my children being sent home for fees arrears again as before.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I built a new house two years ago after a long struggle since I did not have a good source of income. I only depended on my small income from grocery business which was not giving much. I would struggle to meet my family needs with this kind of income. I started saving part of my income from the business and farming in our table banking group and used my savings to buy building materials for putting up the house. After that, I did not have good household items because I was not able to buy on my own. I only had two wooden chairs in the house. I would have to borrow seats from my neighbour whenever I had visitors. When I started receiving these transfers, I started saving and I used the savings to buy household items such as sofa set, cupboard, utensils and a table. Right now if I walk into my house, I feel so much at peace because it is not as empty as it used to be before the transfers. I do not have to borrow seats anymore.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I would want to have finished paying this year's school fees arrears for my children. Both in primary and secondary school. I expect my children to pass their examinations so that they can get good and well-paying jobs after graduating and make their lives better. And they can only achieve this when they have ample time studying in school. The only way to ensure they have all they need to pass their examinations is through paying their fees arrears in time so that they cannot be sent home regularly. This is why I have decided to commit to my part as a parent of paying their fees and encourage them to perform well in their studies.

My life is different from how it would have been four months ago in that I have plastered the house. I built a new house last year and had desired to plaster it. My new goal in the next four months is to pay school fees for my son who is in his last year of primary school. It is my heart desire to have everything ready for the next stage of his education. Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I have always had to plow myself because I did not have the resources to hire for labor for plowing my farm. I would have to struggle for long to prepare my farm for the next planting season but I would be late for the rains. This has been my main source of income and I had to take my time in making it ready. In most cases, I would not be ready in time because I did not have the workforce to make ready in time. Since I started receiving these transfers, I have always hired for labor and bought hybrid seeds and fertilizers which has brought a lot of change in farming life through the harvest with very little input.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have been able to buy a new sofa-set that I never had in the past but right now I am proud to own it. We had to combine effort with my husband who was also embarrassed of staying in a house that has no any chair where we could welcome our visitors. In most cases we used to have old water jerrycans and some old stools that we used as seats but right now we no longer are embarrassed to welcome visitors at our place. We had always wanted to buy the sofa-set but then again due to financial constraints, we have never been able to purchase the item.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My primary goal right now is to construct a new kitchen structure because the one I have right now is in a dilapidated state and its walls may collapse anytime especially with the on-coming rains. I will make sure that I cement both the interior and exterior walls so that it becomes a durable structure that I can use for several years to come even when the organization will no longer be sending me more cash.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I have been able to buy a lot of items that I lacked in the past and a good example would be the cow and the goat that I bought using the cash transfers. The main reason why I bought the animals is because they give me some sort of financial security because I know that once they start giving birth, I can be able to sell them out in the future and earn some profit especially during periods when I will be financially broke. My goat gave birth to twins recently and my cow will also be giving birth in the foreseeable future, so for me I can say that this kind of a transformation is a big difference in my life.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to make a lot of savings within the net months so that my kid who is in his final year in primary school will easily transition to his secondary education come next year. I have to start making the savings as early as now because for me I do not have a source of income that I can say that I will be able to rely on in the future in case GD stops the monthly cash transfers. Within a period of six months from today, I am sure I will have saved enough money that will see him off as he starts his secondary school education.
