How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now in that, I have built a house within a shortest period of time with GiveDirectly's transfers. Secondly, I'm able to feed my family using the money I received from GiveDirectly. Prior to receiving these transfers, I used to sleep in a small house with my children which wasn't enough for us. I was also faced with a challange of famine since there wasn't enough money to buy food.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did so well to support me with cash which has enabled me construct a house. I have never imagined that I would build a iron roofed house at this old age of mine. In my community, I have seen a lot of change courtesy of GiveDirectly. People have been able to build houses, buy livestock, land and household items. In my opinion, GiveDirectly didn't do anything wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on building a house. Since grass is no more in my village and the price is too high, I decided to build a house which is spent ugx 1300000. I saved ugx 332000 for household up keep.
