How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Yes I have a new goal which I didn't have before receiving this transfer. It is to start a new business. My 4 transfers we used (amongst other things) to construct our house. Now that my family lives in our own house, I've set a goal to establish a dry goods business. My wife will take care of the business while I take care of the farm.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GD does well in the areas of ethics and professionalism. All of their staff upholds a professional standard everywhere they go. Their work is free of bias or favoritism I have not seen anywhere where GD does not do well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used a portion of my most recent transfer to pay my 2 children school fees. I also used a portion of my transfer to buy agricultural supplies for my farm.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My new plan is to extend my farm by brushing and cleaning more areas so that I can start planting rice. I want to add it to the cassava farm that I have currently.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The program that GiveDirectly is doing is good, and there's nothing that they are doing that is not good.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent most of my transfer on my children's education.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received my money, I felt very happy and blessed among others. It has not been easy for me to get money these days and I was wondering how I will pay my children school fees for this academy year. Surprisingly for me, I received this huge amount of money in my phone. I'm still feeling that happiness in me since I received the money.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
There have been some changes in my life since I received this money. I'm now relief of the too many thinking about children school fees because I can afford it. I have negotiated for some farm land for my agriculture activities which will start soon. Many thanks to GiveDirectly for putting me on this program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Although I have not yet withdraw my money but I planned to pay my children school fees with some of the money. And I want to use the balance money for agricultural activities. I will buy seeding and tools to start as soon as possible.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am a farmer. I've lived all my life on subsistence farming. However, farming have not brought any significant improvement in my life. I can barely raise money to send my kids to school. If I received the GD money, I will start a "dry goods" business for my wife to run while I continue the farming. This will help us gather food for the home while at the same time raise money for school fees and other necessities.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My son (Gebah Kamara) was ill with an unknown skin disease. We carried him to Monrovia for treatment. The news about his full recovery brought me the most joy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My current challenge is a financial challenge. As a farmer, I am at least able to provide food for the home. Raising enough money to send my children to school is my primary worry.
