Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have any new plan in the next four months. I intend to continue saving through our merry-go-round to enable other members to achieve their dreams as I did. I plan to spend the remaining amount on buying food for my family. Nowadays I am sure we will never sleep hungry even if I don't get casual jobs from my neighbourhood
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In June this year, I received the savings that I had been making in our merry go round. I used to save part of my monthly transfer which enabled me to buy a water tank. This has saved me a lot of time. I no longer walk long distances in search of water from water points that are normally very far. It was a tedious process which would leave me spending too much of my time and energy fetching water for both livestock and domestic use. I had no time to work on my farm but that is something of the past now. Nowadays I have enough time to do my personal duties. I am glad I have crops on my farm. I planted cabbages that are almost ready for harvesting. I look forward to a good harvest that I plan to sell in our local market. This will help me take care of my family expenses. I now have hopes of not doing casual jobs any more.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I believe in the next six months I would have done a lot in terms of farming. The time I used to spend fetching water will now be spent on working on my farm. This will help me spend more time taking care of my crops which means my harvest will increase. Because I now have time to pay close attention to my cabbages, I know I will get a bumper harvest which will earn me more income. This will enable me to cater to my family's needs even after when GiveDirectly have completed their work in our area.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is different from how it was before Give Directly came into my life. We are now able to have enough food for our family. At least I can now afford to eat a healthy meal thrice a day. We look healthier and stronger because we eat well and are peaceful at heart I also bought a few clothes for our children. I can't remember the last time I bought them clothes. I always struggled to ensure they had something to eat at the end of the day, therefore, clothes were like a luxury. It was never our priority but I am glad they were able to replace the old torn ones. Now they look decent and happier.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My next goal is to continue saving. My son will have an initiation ceremony in December and I don't want to let him down. It is usually a big moment because it marks the beginning of a new stage in life. Every parent ensures their kid enjoys this moment because it gives them the courage to face the next stage and hopes that they will conquer whatever challenge may come their way. Its an impact full and educative ceremony and I better saving now lest I embarrass him.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life ever since Give Directly came to my life is that I am more peaceful and hopeful in life. I managed to finally build a better semi-permanent house. This was like a miracle to me because I did not expect this to happen soon considering my source of income. I feel like Give Directly was God sent because I had been praying about it for a long time now. I used to religiously save my transfers because I knew how bad I wanted this house. When I had finally accumulated enough I added a few coins from the casual jobs that I would at times do. Finally, I managed to construct this semi-permanent house. I am grateful that I happened to be part of the beneficiaries of this organization.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to ensure that we improve our standards of living. There is nothing more demeaning and stressful than seeing your family suffer because you don't have the means to provide for them. There is nothing bad like being helpless when you are the breadwinner and everyone in the family is looking up to you. I hope in the near future, I will have enough finances to be able to take care of my family needs in the future. I am planning to invest the little I get from Give Directly to ensure I become financially stable.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that my family now have a bigger house where they sleep comfortably unlike before. I was able to build this house using our savings at merry go round group as a family. I am now stress-free as I know that I will no longer be seeking shelter at my inlaws house during the rainy seasons because my previous house was always leaking and our bedding would be soaked with water when it rains.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal for the next four months is to start a new business of buying and selling maize. The startup capital for this business is affordable and I am always assured of customers. Maize is a staple food in our community and people in my village always walk for a long distance going to the market to purchase some. I will always be assured of regular income which I will use to support my children's education.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that before I used to live in a grass thatched house which was leaking but I am now living in an iron-roofed house. I was able to achieve this by using the money my spouse and I were given from our different merry go round groups. My family always had to seek shelter at my inlaws house at night during the rainy seasons because all our beddings would be soaked with water. Apart from the leaking roof, it was also small and could not accommodate all my family members comfortably. I had always yearned to build a bigger house for my family but I could not achieve this because the little money I usually get from my daily work is not even enough to feed my family.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have started my new business. I will be using my income from this business to cater for my children's education and basic needs for my family. My children will also be getting enough time to study since they will no longer be sent back home to collect school fees since I will be paying on time.
