How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference is that I now have sofa seats in my house. This was not the case before, I only had stools and a mat. I also take milk tea on a daily basis thanks to the cow that I bought with the transfers I received from GD. My family living standards have been improved.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GD has been a savior in my life. I would not have managed to pay school fees for my children if it were not to the support I received from GD. I sincerely have not seen anything bad that GD has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
Before GD sent me transfers, I did not have a decent sofa seat. Whenever I had visitors at home I was forced to borrow from my neighbors to cover up the shame. When I received my second transfers, I bought sofa seats and I can now accommodate visitors without having to borrow seats any more. Besides that, I also invested in a cow for the purpose of harvesting milk for domestic use as well as for sale to help me generate income. The remaining amount I paid school fees for my child.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I'm proud and at peace, I've achieved most of the things I couldn't have achieved without GD. Amongst them is that my child was able to sit for her final examinations without school fee balance. I was able to construct a decent spacious house of my dream.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received the money I felt so happy and thanked God for such a wonderful gift. I couldn't wait for morning so that I could order for building materials and finally complete constructing my house because the money was sent at night.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I had started constructing a new house to replace the small house I owned previously but I ran out of cash to complete it so when I received the money I used a bigger portion to purchase building materials which I used to construct a new decent house. A portion of the money I used to clear my child's school fee so that she could be allowed to sit for final secondary examinations.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means improved education for my children. Education is the best thing a parent can give to children. I hope this will enable them become of more value and dignity in the society and also help them compete for the job opportunities.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when preparing my children to go to school. I have hope in their education as this is the sure way of escaping poverty.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I am facing in life is lack of money to pay school fees for my children. They are sent home due to lack of money and this has interfered with their academic performance.
