How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
After receiving my three transfers from GiveDirectly, been that my boyfriend and I were not doing anything that could bring forth income to sustain us, I used all my three transfers and bought a brand new motorbike for business purpose. Now that the bike is in traffic and running on commercial basis and is now a source of income for us, my new goal now is to built a two bed room house for us. Therefore, I used half of my money and bought two bundles of zinc as a start up material. And the balance money was used to pay debts owed from the saving club. I am very excited about the happenings in my life right now. This is all happening because of GiveDirectly financial assistance. Thanks to GiveDirectly for this life changing opportunity brought to us.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Firstly, I am grateful to GiveDirectly for this great financial favour done for me. For years we couldn't handle such a huge amount of money. Our survival was depended solely on hand out. Gracefully, GiveDirectly came to our rescue with this financial freedom and now our lives are changing gradually for the better. GiveDirectly did everything well from the start of the program until now. Therefore, I have not seen anything wrong done by GiveDirectly. I remain forever thankful for their kind gestures.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Before I started receiving payment from GiveDirectly, my life was empty financially, my brother and I had nothing doing. Affording even a daily meal was something hard to do. For this reason, since I started receiving transfers from GiveDirectly, I saved up my three transfers and bought a motorbike for business purpose. Now that we have a source of income, my new goal now is to built our own two bedrooms house. With that said, I used half of my transfer and bought two bundles of zinc as a start up material. The remaining money was used to pay my debts owed the saving club. Now with income for the bike I will be able to continue with my building project. Thanks to GiveDirectly for adding meaning to our lives. I am very fortunate to be part of this unique program.
