Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was one evening I came from my farm on my way home I met two of my neighbours who jokingly told me that Give Directly has sent their transfer. Upon hearing this great news, I felt they were kidding but one thing that had me convinced was they were happy and dancing. I decided to send my husband to the next town to confirm. In less than an hour, I saw him coming. According to him, as soon as he got to the network place he received the transfer. I was very happy when I received my transfer because I needed money to pay my child tuition and to build myself a house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before Give Directly could start sending my transfer, I have been surviving on farming. Out of the farming, my husband and I have been saving money to build a house but due to my health condition, we ended up spending all the money we had on my treatment. I'm grateful to Give Directly because they have empowered me. Upon receiving my transfer, I was able to embark on my house project.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this cash transfer from Givedirectly means I will actualize my dream of constructing a descent house for me and my family and if there will be any money left, I will engage into dry good business. I will use the profit of the business to educate my son. Owning a decent house plus the business will bring me happiness irrespective of the struggles I going through.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months what has brought me happiness or joy is when my little son got promoted to the "K2". Irrespective of the hardship we are going through, he was able to successfully complete the school year and came out with flying colors. I was so happy and joyful that I dance all day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The major challenge I'm currently face with is lack of money. My husband lack of a reliable source of income to meet the basic necessities of the family such as food, medication, education and a decent shelter. I on the other hand, I have not gotten my own cash to buy goods of my own to sell. I take goods from people on credit and sell and pay back the money and take the profit. I have to do this inorder to be supportive to my husband so we can meet some of the basic needs of the family.
