How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different from how it was in that, I was able to built a house and this saved me from selling my cow to build it. This was an old house and grass-thatched which had to be repaired most of the time which was hectic. I feel good living in a decent house which is well furnished.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly's project of giving out unconditional transfers was the best idea. The living standards of people in our village have been uplifted as a result of this program. The idea of sending money directly to our phones was the best idea because had we involved a third party, there were high chances that our money could get lost by our corrupt officials.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my second transfer on purchasing a dairy cow. Our tribe treasure cattle rearing. I also love cows because of the various benefits and this is why I gave it the first priority among all the investment options I had. The cow has already given birth which means I get free milk. I usually sell some and consume the remaining liters. Apart from that, I also bought food and clothes for my children.
