How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Had it for the tranfers that I received, I wouldn't have paid school fees for my child who was in college at the time. She already completed schooling courtesy of timely fees payment. I also bought goats which I am currently keeping. I also have a well built house that I live in, where I feel comfortably. When the cow calves, I will also have a source of income from the sale of milk from it. The milk is also food to my children hence I would not spend most of the money in procurement of milk for family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The organization actually does all the good things by providing financial assistance to the less to do families in our region.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the entire tranfers in building a house for my son. I also paid school fees for children who were in secondary school by then. I also spent some amount in buying food fod the family. There are aslo some goats which were bought using the transfers.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My life has been a really difficult one. Ever since I got married, I have not had peace enough in my house. Our first born child fell sick at the age of five, and he has never really improved. I have travelled from one hospital to the other with the hope of finding a lasting solution to this illness. I have never given up on him and I hope that one day he will be healed. He cannot talk but at least he listens to what I tell him.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when I am done with all the days activities. This is the perfect time to relax and have a good time with my family members.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have always had a lot of ambitious plans in my mind. These plans have always been unsuccessful and the main reason is that I have no funds to make these plans a reality. Receiving these money means that I will have most of my plans being actualized. I would have a more comfortable and stress free home. I also have plans of investing the money to enable me sustain the family going forward.
