How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
From the beginning of the program my goal was to improve my business and improve my house that I am living in currently in this town, I have achieved those goals. My new goal is to build a house in the city, I started the project already but doing my best to complete it.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well by being truthful to us through out this program, they are also kind and patient with recipients, they have allowed us to make our own decisions about the transfers which shows us a great respect. I don't know anything that GiveDirectly is not doing well because everything is okay here.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have not withdrawal my last transfer yet but I want to use it to buy some building materials for my house project that I am undertaking in the city.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to build a new house in the city because I will love to live there in the future, having a house in the city will be a dream come true for me. When everything I'm putting in place is settle, I have my daughter who is attending school in the city of whom I will be more excited to live together with again.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by helping us unconditionally without any staring being attached to it, they are also kind and patient with us anytime we are being interviewed, the processes in the program are also straight and fair to me, I don't have any complaint about GiveDirectly, everything is okay with me in the program.

I used my most recent transfer to buy some building materials for my house project, I also paid two of my children school fees, I bought food with part of the transfer and the balance is being saved for future purposes.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before GiveDirectly came to help us, I bought a land in the city to build on it for my family but there was no money to start the building process. I want to start the building project this year, I also want to improve my house that I am living in right now in this town.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I love GiveDirectly because they have decided to help us unconditionally, I also like the way they talk to me kindly. I don't have anything bad to say about GiveDirectly, everything is okay.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
How I felt when I received my first transfer from GiveDirectly:
On October 21, 2021 about 9:00AM after my morning prayer at the mosque, I was sitting at home talking with my friends when I heard the phone ringing. I took the phone and read the message; when I saw the money that GiveDirectly sent to my account, I was so happy that day; I hurry to show it to my husband.

The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving payments from GiveDirectly:
Since I started receiving payments from GiveDirectly, my and I can eat on time now. Before GiveDirectly came to help us, my husband will do all the hard work to raise money for our family but now, the stress on him has reduced; we can even buy new materials for my daughter schooling.

What I spend my most recent transfer on:
I used the money to pay my daughter school fees and buy her school materials. I also used it to improve my business and I saved the remaining one. I will add the balance to my next transfer so that I can fix my house. Before GiveDirectly sent me this money, my husband use to make coal for sale in order to raise money for our daughter school fees.
