How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before GiveDirectly came with this monetary aid i never had a dream to build a house because there was no any source of money. Now that i have received the transfer my goal is to have a new house with iron sheets roof by December 2021

Givedirectly did everything well in all stages of project implementation and i find nothing lacking

I have spent my transfer on 2 bags of fertilizer at MK35000 each, 4 bags of maize for food at MK8000 each, 2 hoes at MK2500 each, kitchen utensils at MK6000 and saved other amount to be used for building a new house soon

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when i received my transfer i was happy because the transfer would help me access many things i wanted in my life
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Food was the main challenge in my family to the extent that it was imposible to take three meals per day. I had worn out beddings which would not protect me from cold weather. My house has been grass thatched and unreliable. Now i confirm that there is the biggest difference in my daily life because i now have enough food for the rest of the year, blanket and iron sheet for my new house
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my transfer on 19 iron sheets MK5500 each, 12 bags of maize at MK10000 each, 2 blankets at MK30000 each and saved part of the transfer.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am happy to be enrolled in the GD programme. I have always wanted a bigger House this will be an opportunity for me to build a new house with iron sheets and also buy food and a descent sleeping place for my family and I

I am the happiest when I have food and money in my home

I struggle to find money to buy food and fertilizer in my household which mostly leads to shortage of food
