What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on funding my spouse in payment of dowry. Having engaged in an early marriage, my spouse who had not acquired any job could not afford paying my dowry. My parents pressure towards this led us into spending sleepless nights. The desire to fulfill this and engage in a legal marriage almost drove crazy. I was compelled to beg a long the streets to help us raise some cash for fulfillment of this desire. Fortunate enough, GiveDirectly came in and supported us fully. Am so proud to speak of this, how I wish I would get an opportunity to publish this inspirational story in the national gazette.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has greatly changed with the transfers from GiveDirectly as I no longer feel ashamed of engaging in an illegal marriage neither do I beg for support along the streets to raise money for my dowry payment.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has worked uniquely as compared to other organisations that have ever worked in the same area. The fact that these transfers are grants gives it more value and uniqueness.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of my transfer to buy a cupboard for keeping utensils, I have for a long time dreamed of buying one, I bought iron sheets for roofing, bought steel door for my new house and also paid school fees for my children.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Whenever I went to a friend's house and saw a cupboard, I would always ask myself if I will ever get one and when I got the transfer, that was my top priority and now I feel good whenever i see my utensils well stored , i also sleep without worries of thieves breaking into my house because it has a steel door which is very secure and that is how may daily life is different.
