How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have not invested much of the transfers that I have been receiving in the past four months on anything big but I am happy that I was able to buy an extra table recently. We had a small table that was hardly enough to accommodate all of us, especially during meal times forcing some of my family members to carry their plates while they eat. Now that we have two tables, we are having a good time eating together comfortably as a family and this has brought us together as a family. This has been the greatest difference in my life over the last four months.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have spent much of my money on foodstuff and other household needs apart from one goat that I bought last year. I am aware that the support that I receive from GiveDirectly is soon coming to an end and it is for this reason that I am planning to use the rest of my transfers to improve my hairdressing business by buying proper equipment and increasing the beauty products that I also sell within the salon.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I have a salon where I work as a hairdresser. This being my main source of income, it does not give me much income since I do not have a lot of clients to attend to within the village. The transfers have contentiously supplemented my income and made it easy for me to meet the cost of the basic household needs for my family even at the times when my business has been doing badly. I have always managed to provide decent meals and other basic needs for my family that would otherwise be hard to obtain had I not received GiveDirectly transfers.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Now that this salon will be my only source of income in six months when the project is over, I am optimistic that the plan I have of improving and stocking the business will yield good results. I expect to be making a lot more profits after improving this business because by then I will have more varieties of the products that I currently sell which will attract more customers.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was because I am less worried in life. I am able to meet most of my needs unlike before. I dress well and have extra money to take care of my other needs. Previously, buying clothes would be difficult because there were other pressing needs and priorities. I always wanted to see my business blossom, therefore, I spent all my savings and profits towards this business. Most of the profits I got from the saloon would be reinvested into the business and a few coins spent on food. This would leave me with nothing to spend on other miscellaneous items. I am a happy and a better hairdresser. My business is improving each and every month.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have new goals at the moment. I still want to focus on my salon business until it is stable enough. There are several other replacements and items that should be bought before the saloon is full and functions properly. This may take me some time to finish because the items are quite expensive. Once I am done with the purchase, I will then start looking for other ideas and goals to pursue.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I have been able to boost my business. It was almost collapsing a few months ago but regained its ground after I started receiving help from Give Directly, now it is doing well. Recently I was able to buy a hair dryer which has really increase my profits. Initially, I would be forced to hire it from the nearby saloons just to make sure that my customers were attended to. It helped me retain my customers though I didn't get much profit. I am glad that my saloon is almost getting to a high standard one like the rest of the saloons in our area.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that, my saloon business will have been stable and generating enough profits. This will give me an opportunity to now start helping my relatives back at home. Giving a helping hand so my dear ones have been my dream and I am now certain that this goal will be actualized. I am glad that Give Directly is supporting me and very soon I will be in a better position to execute my plan.
